Don't you find it interesting the little names we make for our children and loved ones? I wonder what in us makes us do that. I call my girls "Girlfriend" and try to think up any name that will make my son laugh. He has the best laugh. The other day I called him something (can't remember what) and he thought I called him "Dude Me Poob". Well, he laughed FOREVER about that. So, that's my name for him right now. And, he calls me "Mother Me Poob". Somehow it's all funny! LOL!
I don't have a lot of nick names for my kids now. I know that when my son was a baby I had lots of nicknames for him including "Bubba" "Little Man" "Bubbs".
What about you guys? What are some of the nicknames you have for your kids? Or better yet, what were your nicknames as children?
-Heather
For my son, Jadon, it's "J-Dog or Dude", and the daugher is "Baby".
ReplyDeleteMy nickname, not by family, but in school was "Shorty". ;)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest is "Friend" to Tim. I usually call him Bud.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is Kiki Joy McGregor, or any possible variations of that: Kikie, Kiki-Joy, McGregor, Kiki McGregor, McGreg, Gregger. I also call her Girlfriend.
Zach is Bud, Dude, Baby Boy, or any other silly name that comes to mind. I guess Zach's and Ian's names are interchangeable. I call them both Hunky Dorry Boys, and Soggy Bottom Boys and Little Men, Cutie Patooties, Nudie Patooties, Smarty Pafarties. You know, the usual.
My nickname is Reese!
;) Reese
For some reason I LOVE it that Tim calls Sean "Friend". I have always loved it and think it's adorable!

My hubby calls our daughter, "Little Angel". I usually just call her, "Babe" or "Baby" when talking to her. Our son's initials are "LT" so that's what we call him, or "Little Man". My husband also calls him "Trigger" as most of my meltdowns and psychotic episodes are "triggered" by his sleep issues! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to call my girl Sugar Pea, or Sugar Booger...hehe... Then she went to Lu (from her Aunts) and now she is Em, but who knows when that will change.
ReplyDeleteShall we get into some of Heather's childhood nicknames???
Amy...
