American Idol!

Okay for those of you that hate American Idol, look the other way because this post is all AI! My family and I are huge AI fans and while Reese was here she actually got hooked on it too, even though she didn't want too! Reese has never seen AI and we only thought she would be able to watch it once, as it turns out, she was able to watch it three or four times. Last night as I sat down to watch it, I really missed her!

So, here's a rundown, although maybe you've already searched the Internet looking for a quick fix. Last night was "sing a song from the year you were born" night. Danny was first, and he was awesome! He did Stand By Me. It was a strange arrangement, but Danny sounded great. Kris did All She Wants to Do Is Dance. Simon said it was forgettable, and unfortunately it was. I know how much you love him. Lil Rounds did What's Love Got To Do With It and sounded just like Tina Turner, she didn't change it at all. She didn't get much love from the judges. Allison did You Can't Make Me Love You by Bonnie Rait. It was awesome. Anoop did True Colors. I thought it was going to be terrible but he really did a great job. Simon said he was a singing yo-yo. One week he's great, the next he's not, then he is again. He even looked better last night. Scott did The Search Is Over by Survivor. He even played the guitar, but it was terrible, he screeched alot. Matt did Part Time Lover. He did excellent, some people gave him a standing O. And now on to Adam (yuck!), he did Mad World from Tears for Fears. Of course, I just plain didn't get it. For some reason, my TV didn't DVR it so I had to go find it online and apparently they ran out of time but Simon gave him a standing O. I love Simon, but I still don't get it!

There's your recap. Who do I think will be in the bottom three tonight? Scott, Kris & Lil Rounds. I sure hope Kris doesn't go home because he is great! I hate to tell ya this Reese, but I fell asleep before I could vote. If Kris goes, it could be my fault, although that would take your whole voting for Kris guilt factor away if he went away ;)

  1. Danny's my favorite, and we so don't get Adam. This is our first year to watch.

  2. I am glad you did this... I missed it last night. Our receiver went out last week, so we have been without for a week. It was fixed today though, so I will be watching tonigh.

Oh, and I really like Adam...

  3. Okay Amy....I don't get at all how you can possibly like Adam. Dan LOVES him and he just freaks me totally out! Yuck! LOL!!! Saturday you will have to explain it to me! :)

  4. I hope Adam wins it!

Our PVR cut out too, so we missed Adam's performance pretty much.

Where'd you find Simon giving Adam a standing O? I'd like to see THAT!

Why Adam? I love the sound of his voice! And he doesn't make me nervous to watch. I mean I put myself in people's shoes a lot and well out of all the AI's I would want to stand in his shoes the most! He makes it look easy. And he's also very creative with the arrangements, I think.

I think you're right about who'll be in the bottom three. As for who goes home?

    I say Scott!

  5. I think it's probably Adam's freaky eyes that are the worst. Don't you think so, Heather?

  6. Yeah, Kayren, it could be his eyes. He just plain freaks me out. I can't stand him. My hubby thinks he's great, but I am not in the Adam crowd, not even a little, totally wish he would go home.

I'm voting for Danny, all the way. My second favorite is Matt and I like Kris too.

  7. Oh, I forgot to mention that I did a search for Adam on Youtube, that's where I found out he got the standing O.

  8. My favorite is Danny, and my kids kind of like Kris because he's from Arkansas. Nobody in our house likes Adam, Lil Rounds, or Anoop. We did like Scott though. So glad Blondie girl went home last week.

  9. We were really glad that Megan went home last week too. I think that Anoop and Lil Rounds will be next. I think that Adam will probably be one of the two in the end unless some big upset happens, although then the judges can save him. I think the save thing is a bad idea, I think it should just fall how America votes. Daughtry got voted off way early a couple years ago, he's my all-time favorite, but he's doing great w/out being the American Idol. All that to say, no matter what happens they will probably save Adam and then I can't predict who will be the other finalist. I think there's a good chance of either Danny, Matt or Allison. It will be interesting to watch it play out in the next couple of weeks.

  10. What I can't stand about Adam is that: 1.)He wears make-up like a girl, 2.)He has an odd androgynous quality that seems to excite girls today but turns me off, and 3.) he seems very conceited.

If he wins I will have lost all faith in American Idol fans and I won't watch again. First Obama, then Adam? I don't think so....

I really like Matt, Kris, Allison and Danny. Matt's my favorite, but almost tied with Kris. Allison has an amazing voice and will definitely go places whatever happens. I like Danny alot, especially his happy attitude and good nature, but he reminds me a whole lot of someone I knew years ago. Hard for me to get past that.

  11. I am pulling for Adam partly because I get the feeling his own mother didn't believe in him... I wonder what she thinks now...HA... your own son.

And Reese, Danny kinda reminds me of someone too. Someone you are married too... (is that only me?? I am thinking high school days)

  12. Amy,

That's funny that Danny reminds you of Tim. I don't see it, but Tim's mom and sister both think there are similarities. Interesting.

He reminds me of Chance. It's his eyes and his upper lip. LOL!

  13. Too Funny... Now I am really going to be watching him...

I am glad your mom and sister are thinking that too... I am not crazy after all.

    Amy.

  14. Reese,
You're right on with the make-up, and I hadn't thought of it, but you're right on with the weird androgynous thing, too. Not like Pat on Saturday Night Live though. I guess he probably is conceited. Watching him last night while the judges were talking you could kind of see it in his *freaky* eyes.
