Know and Tell Friday: Spouse Edition

(Heather's away for the weekend and was a sweetie and got KATF all ready while I was out on a date with my hubby. But somehow with the anniversary, a big family day today, and Heather being away... well, I got confused. I thought today was Thursday, I guess, even though I knew it was Friday. Does that make any sense at all?! So, here are Heather's answers; I'll post mine as soon as I'm done answering them! Cheers!)

In honor of Reese & Tim and Dan & my 15 year anniversaries, we decided that this weeks Know and Tell Friday will be all about our spouses. Yep, Reese & Tim celebrated 15 years yesterday and Dan & I will celebrate 15 years on the 31st.

Here we go!

1. Where did you meet your spouse?

2. What is your favorite personality trait about him?

3. How old were you when you met your spouse?

4. How old were you when you got married?

5. What is your favorite way to spend time together? (Easy ladies, this is a Christian blog! LOL!)

6. How did your spouse propose to you?

7. Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Heather's answers:

1. Where did you meet your spouse? I met him at a local hangout here in my hometown. He came with his sister, who happened to be my youth pastor. (Reese added: I'm sure that's true but I happen to know it was a setup! Heather and I weren't friends at the time but we went to the same youth group and I heard our youth pastor plotting to get her brother Dan and Heather together! LOL!)

2. What is your favorite personality trait about him? He's very funny, that is when he wants to be :)

3. How old were you when you met your spouse? 14

4. How old were you when you got married? 17

5. What is your favorite past time to do together? Truthfully, we love to just laugh together. We can have a blast doing anything. Watching TV, doing housework, hanging out with the kids. We can usually laugh at anything. Our senses of humor have kind of merged in to the same, which scares me! The one thing we love doing thought without the kids is going for motorcycle rides.

6. How did your spouse propose to you? He proposed to me on the steps of the high school when I was a Junior. I was pushing for a ring, although not an engagement ring. He came to see me at lunch time and brought this beautiful ring. I guess it wasn't terribly romantic but I love showing the kids where he proposed.

7. Where did you go on your honeymoon? We went to the beach, which is what most people do around here. Dan's brother and his wife actually went with us. His wife had never seen the ocean before so we invited them along. We stayed at the same hotel as my parents did on their honeymoon. That was a bad plan. It was called the Coho Inn, but we called it the Hobo Inn because I don't think they had changed anything since my parents had stayed there.

Reese's answers:

1. Where did you meet your spouse? He was Mr. Center-Of-Attention at all our youth group gatherings. He played the keyboard, wore a massive metal cross around his neck and was always listening to Christian rock music with his Walkman. Trouble was, I was one of the shiest girls around. By the time my friend Amber got around to spilling the news of my secret crush on him, he'd gone out with a fair number of girls in the youth group. In fact, when one gal heard Tim and I were on the verge of striking up a relationship, she shrugged, "So? Tim goes out with everybody." LOL!

2. What is your favorite personality trait about him? I love his sense of humor. He cracks me up.

3. How old were you when you met your spouse? I actually met him when I was 12. We were friends for more than 3 years and got together when I was 16.

4. How old were you when you got married? I was 17. He was 19.

5. What is your favorite way to spend time together? (Easy, ladies, this is a Christian blog! LOL!) Other than the obvious... laughing, watching movies, walking on the beach.

6. How did your spouse propose to you? He asked me to marry him on a thunder stormy day at the end of May, 1992. Whiteheart song "Lovers and Dreamers" was playing. He didn't have a ring yet. He gave me the ring on my 17th birthday, on the bank of the Columbia River. Very romantic!

7. Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Lincoln City, Oregon, on the Pacific coast. We were facing the ocean at the Sea Gypsy hotel. It was cheap and smelled like the maid waved sour cheese around the room every day while we were out.
